In 2005, Sam made a hollow wax cast of a typewriter. She gave it to her dad, who put it on his desk, where it sat for 6 years in the sun, melting gradually. By happy accident, the wax slumped without breaking and was cast in bronze, concluding the melting process and making a commemorative object.
The molten wordspeaks to the changes in narrative perception and the relationship of story telling to the overall narrative.
